Windows 2008 R2 ntp check returns "Peer Clock Stratum: unspecified"
Hi, I have a number of systems (non-domain) which synchronise their times to a local NTP time source. We monitor the time on by sending a query to each system, which reports back its stratum, polling interval, reference clock etc. We have introduced a Windows 2008 R2 server which synchronizes correctly with the time source and the time stays in sync, however when we query the 2008 R2 server, it doesn't report back the stratum and gives "Peer Clock Stratum: unspecified or unavailable (0)". The HKLM\System\Services\w32Time\TimeProvders\NtpServer\Enabled is set to 1, so it does responds to the query. I'm just not sure why the stratum continues to indicate unavailable when it's time is in fact synchronised. Any ideas why this is the case? Thanks

How did you query the server? Read this thread: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-751085.html
